If you move around circles whose members live and breathe Korean drama, then you've heard of the SBS show "The Penthouse: War In Life."
"The Penthouse" has been compared to "SKY Castle" in that it involves women and their children. The similarity, to us, ends there.
If you're looking for a relaxing drama that will help make you fall asleep, "The Penthouse" isn't it.
It tells the story of four families who live in a posh building called Hera Palace. The penthouse dwellers, businessman Joo Dan-tae (played by Um Ki-joon) and his beautiful wife Shim Su-ryeon (played by Lee Ji-ah).
Within minutes of the drama starting, a young woman, who turns out to be a math tutor, falls to her death from the building and Shim Su-ryeon witnesses it.
The other characters include an ambitious opera singer and her doctor husband, a lawyer, a hardworking middle class single mom and a bunch of kids who look like they're spoiled brats but are actually troubled.
"The Penthouse" was written by Kim Soon-ok, the screenwriter behind "Temptation Of Wife" so expect a lot of drama and excitement.
The plots include switching at birth, murder, infidelity, cheating in school and many others.
"The Penthouse: War In Life" is still ongoing but it's already been renewed for two more seasons.
