5 Perks of Being A Confident Woman
It’s tough being a woman in a man’s world. If we act aggressive, we’re a bitch. If we’re a little passive, we’re pushovers. It’s a classic case of damned if you, damned if you don’t.
We believe that us girls should never be afraid to say what we want and to show who we are. If you’re not sure whether you should heed our advice, let the five things that you could get if you’re confident convince you.
A blooming career
You did not send in that application to your dream job because you listened to the nagging doubt that you will be overlooked. You did not ask for a salary increase, in spite of the tons of tasks you are doing for the company, because you think they won’t give you one anyway.
One of the good things about having self-confidence is that you have the courage to try without you falling apart at the first hint of failure. If you fully understand your capabilities then you’ll know which opinion to take and which to leave out (even if we still got that whole wage gap thing, ugh).
The person you like
Here’s a dare. Ask your long-time crush out on a date. Worried? Embarrassed? Ashamed? Please. This is the 21st century. It’s high time we have a hand on one of the things that used to be out of our control: love.
There’s may be a chance he’ll say no, but if you don’t try then you lose by default and that’s a lot worse.
Loyal friends
“We accept the love we think we deserve.” That quote refers to romantic love, but I think it can apply to other personal relationships as well. We’re friends with people who we get along with, who we’re compatible with, but sometimes we get stuck with people who do not really have the best of intentions.
If we know the magnanimity of the love we can give, then we do not have to settle on the people we surround ourselves with. If we let go of the toxic, we invite more positive things, or people, to come our way. Be confident in trusting and loving your friends.
A kickass style
Letting our outside reflect what’s within us is effortless, but sometimes we let society’s norm dictate our sense of style. What we’re wearing and how we wear it is not up for debate. And yes, wearing a smile is the best style there is.
Being comfortable in your own skin and confident with your style emphasizes your unique personality that no one else in the world surely has.
Peace of mind
More than a successful career, a happy love life, confidence in yourself brings you a tranquil mind; the knowledge that you are secure in your own skin is enough to wake up each morning with a smile, and to sleep with a content heart.
Being confident is the first step to being the better version of ourselves. It’s a little hard with all the rules, all the competition, and all the doubts, but let’s not allow negativity to shred our self-esteem. Little Juddy Hopps said it best, “No one tells me what I can or can’t be.”
