UPSIZE PH | 3 Cities Inspire A Lipstick Collection

It’s quite challenging to travel right now because not everyone is fully vaccinated but MAC Lipstick turns to the Philippines for inspiration for Wander.Lust., a set of three classic bullet lipsticks boldly re-imagined to convey the Filipino spirit.

The lipsticks represent three key Philippine cities—Manila, Cebu, and Davao—and were re-imagined in collaboration with young graphic designer Raxenne Maniquiz.

The packaging captures the essence that makes the Philippines unlike anywhere else in the world: the places you love and the things that make them so special, on limited-edition designs of classic shades that will put a smile on your face, a spring in your step, and a new collectible icon in your makeup arsenal.

“It’s a dream come true collaborating with MAC. I got to draw inspiration from the places I love while adding my own style to these iconic lipsticks. It’s all been such a huge thrill,” said Maniquiz.

Raxenne is an exciting young talent whose work has appeared in many brand campaigns, product packaging, apparel design, published materials, stationery, and other commissioned projects. Her exceptional creations depict images of flora and fauna—mostly the kind endemic to the Philippines—drawn with deep, painterly strokes and brilliant contrasts.

“Ruby Woo was my first ever lipstick. I love makeup so much—it's an expression of yourself!—and to be able to illustrate for MAC is a dream come true.”

Her finely textured illustrations perfectly show the spirit that makes each city special: the urban spark of Manila, the beachside pleasures of Cebu and the flavors of Davao.

This set is part of MAC Cosmetics’ Asia-wide collection of re-imagined lipsticks celebrating the diverse and exciting cultures of the most iconic locales in the region, with 21 new lipsticks representing 21 cities, all designed by Maniquiz.

“Wander.Lust. takes you on a journey across Asia via our iconic bullet lipsticks. This bold, limited edition collectible collection celebrates the places and people we hold so close to our hearts in Asia. One of the best bits about my job has always been visiting amazing places throughout Asia and seeing all the unique colors that shape each place. When selecting the lipstick colors for the Wander.Lust. collection, we felt that it was important for the shades to embody the spirit of the location,” said Regan Rabanal, Senior Makeup Artist, MAC, Asia-Pacific.

The Wander.Lust. collection comes in three best-selling MAC shades: The mid-tone mauve pink Mehr for Manila, the dirty peach Mull it Over for Cebu, and the warm-toned reddish-brown Taupe for Davao. And they come in the extraordinary textures that you know and love: Creamy matte for Manila and Davao and Powder Kiss for Cebu.
