Instagram food envy is real
Quarantine has indeed changed the way we look at food and how we consume it. Instagram is still the best way for us to discover culinary treasures but unlike before when we'd rush to a restaurant or coffee shop once we see something we like on IG, the scenario these days is a little bit different.
We'd now normally just order in and we're glad that every restaurant, even ramen places, now allows takeout and delivery.
But there are difficulties. If you live in Quezon City and the restaurant you want to order from is in Paranaque, that could pose a problem in terms of delivery fees. Still, we could always just window shop, sigh.
So here's a list of food that has caught our fancy on Instagram.
Strawberry Monst from Pufft Doughnuts
You can't go wrong with strawberries sandwiched in a delicious lightly glazed doughnut. A box of four contains nearly a kilo of fresh strawberries. Available for P880 HERE,
Fried Chicken Bagel from Yardstick Coffee
We order our cold brew from Yardstick even if we live in the north and they're in Makati. We didn't know they had these delicious-looking Fried Chicken Bagel. It’s only Php350 and it looks like it can be shared. Order HERE.
Filipino Spaghetti by BigBoi
BigBoi is a Filipino-American restaurant in Los Angeles, California. One of their more famous dishes is the Filipino Spaghetti, which is sweetish and has hotdogs and is topped with cheddar cheese.
Lorenzo Truffle Cream Pasta from Mamou
This pasta dish may not be that popular on IG but it is in real life. It's creamy and decadent and is just the perfect partner to Mamou's equally famous steak.
Ukokei Shoyu Chashu Ramen from Ramen Ron
The Tantanmen is a crowd favorite but this is ours. The Shoyu Chashu Ramen is very comforting and somehow familiar--just the feelings we need in these times.
Nacho Potato Crisps from Buen Comer
This is one of our favorites from Buen Comer's Mexican-inspired menu. The potato crisps are freshly made and these are topped with meat, vegetables and sauce. The potato crisps are so fresh and non-greasy that we'd eat them even without the toppings.
