Gucci launches Doraemon collection for CNY

Gucci has launched a capsule collection in collaboration with Fujiko-Pro featuring Doraemon in celebration of Chinese New Year 2021.

The collection celebrates the character from Fujiko Fujio’s beloved manga and anime series. As Gucci describes, Doraemon is a cat-shaped robot that arrived from the 22nd century to both help and torment his best friend Nobita using a variety of gizmos stashed inside his four-dimensional pouch.

The over 50-piece collection includes coats, jackets, track pants and shorts with Gucci’s classic GG monogram pattern mixed with Doraemon accents. Gucci's trademark green/red stripe accent can also be seen on sleeves and hems and over bags and wallets.

They will be widely available on January 12, exactly a month before Chinese New Year begins. On that day, Gucci will roll out thematic Pins and also a Year of the Ox-themed Doraemon disguise. The Italian fashion house will also launch China exclusives.
