In the last two weeks, there have been talks that BTS’ j-hope was going to enlist on April 18, just months after his group mate and friend Jin enlisted in December 2022. But there was no confirmation from the artist not nor his agency BIGHIT, until j-hope himself replied “Oh October 17, that’s right” on Friday last week during a Weverse Live to a fan’s comment that he would be discharged from active duty in the Korean military around October 17, 2024.
During the live, j-hope also said, “Love you ARMY,” “Let’s meet in 2025,” and “Don’t worry about me.”
On April 18, KST, j-hope, whose real name is Jung Ho-seok, logged onto Weverse before leaving for his enlistment and said goodbye to his fans. He also shared a picture of himself in buzz cut.
On Instagram, he shared a handwritten message that stated, "I will be back healthy and well."
BTS’ youngest member Jungkook cut his Los Angeles schedule short for j-hope, while BTS' eldest member Jin dropped a comment on Weverse and said that there is only one day left after which Jhope will join him. Jimin also shared a picture of himself with J-hope on Weverse.
