Lucky Manzano: Say It With Chocolates
One of the things Lucky Manzano admires about his wife Jessy Mendiola is the way she handles her finances.
“She is really wise when it comes to money. Hindi siya bili ng bili (She doesn’t just buy and buy). Hindi siya yung ganun (She’s not like that). Kumbaga when she’s gonna buy something, she’ll sell something first ganun siya. Hindi siya impulsive,” said the host at the sidelines of an event hosted by chocolate brand Toblerone which named him the “Love Guru.”
As a husband, Manzano said he supports his wife’s journey as an actress, endorser and vlogger.
“You know, you will always have your own path. I will admire, I will support that path if it means you being busy. I understand that. Yeah I will, but it’s very important to me that we have our path together. So para sakin, that’s where we put in the effort na kumbaga, whether it be simple hanging out. Para sakin, it’s a simple movie, an hour and a half, two hours, maybe three.. But it means the world to us because everything slows down kung magkasama kami. So a simple meal, or kaya dadalaw kami kay Mommy because Mommy lives close by. That in itself is how we rekindle the time lost or we make up for it.”
Manzano said his love language is physical touch but he also likes to give gifts like chocolates and flowers.
“Every day should be Valentines’s Day. You know, you can be in a relationship for one month, you can be married for a year, five years, a decade, parang sobrang tagal niyo na. Pero para sakin, everyday should always be about courtship.”
