Tried And Tested: Benefit POWmade Waterproof Brow Pomade
If you like your brows neat but not to the point of looking painted on, a brow pomade is probably not your preferred product.
But Benefit Cosmetics' new POWmade Waterproof Brow Pomade has a wiper area so you can wipe excess product off your brush and create hair-like and natural looking brows.
Benefit has released a separate brush with a spoolie at the end that works well with POWmade, which comes in a pot and has eight shades.
We got to try POWmade and the dual-ended angled brush, thanks to the Benefit Cosmetics Philippines team and here's what we thought:
Pros
The pomade is very pigmented. A little goes a long way
The product is easy to control. It's creamy but lightweight
The ridged wiper minimizes product waste and helps avoid messes
According to National Brow Artist for the Philippines Czari Domingo, it's best to first draw hair-like strokes on the back of your hand before applying the product on your brows
The product is waterproof and claims to last for 36 hours. We didn't wear it for that long but it lasted for about five hours. We removed it using a cream (Emrbryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré) followed with micellar water (Bioten)
There's no learning curve for application. It's easy to use. Domingo advises applying POWmade before any other brow products
Cons
We tried it with the brush, which costs almost as much as the product (Php1,330) at Php1,190 so buying both could prove to be expensive
The colors are quite dark so choose your shade wisely. We have black hair and 3.5 was just perfect (we're usually a 4 in other Benefit brow products).
