Tried And Tested: Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance Brightness Refresh Toner
In the past, we’ve been sceptical about toners because of not-so-good experiences. We used to think all toners contain a lot of alcohol, an ingredient which could damage the skin. Alcohol is not necessarily bad for the skin but a lot of it in a skincare product could be harmful in the long term.
Thankfully, the new generation toners are gentler on the skin and they serve to prep the skin for the other products that you’ll apply next.
One such toner is the Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance Brightness Refresh Toner, which promises to “brighten and illuminate for instant softer, smoother skin. It instantly revitalizes skin, while softening and smoothing, preparing your skin to receive the benefits of moisturizing creams to follow.”
This toner is suitable for all skin types, including dry, sensitive skin. It is watery with a bit of tackiness, which is not surprising considering the promise to soften the skin.
Cetaphil said the Korea-made toner is “formulated with GentleBright Technology consisting of sea daffodil and niacinamide to help brighten skin.” It is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.
The toner’s ingredients include Aqua, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Anyhdroxylitol, Citric Acid, Ethyhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Cicer Seed Extract, Pancratium Maritimum Extract, Rhododendron Chrysanthum Leaf Extract, Sodium Citrate, Tocopherol, Tricholoma Matsutake Extract, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Xylitol and Xylitylglucoside.
Cetaphil Bright Healthy Radiance Brightness Refresh Toner is meant to be applied after cleansing and before the serum and moisturizer.

There’s no stinging upon application
There is a slight tacky feel, which is an indication that the toner has moisturizing properties
It’s fragrance-free so it can be used by people with a lot of allergies
It can be used by men and women
You can see results in a month or two in terms of making the skin smoother
It seems to reduce oiliness

Cons
It costs almost Php700, which could be expensive for some people
