TNC Predator wins all-Filipino DOTA 2 final of Predator League

It was an all-Filipino finals in the 2020/2021 Asia Pacific Predator League Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) 2 division as TNC Predator edged out Neon Esports in the final, 2-0, of the online tournament last weekend.

ArkAngel Predator, another Filipino powerhouse team, went into the last day of the tournament in second place and fell to sixth place after the finals.

The Asia-Pacific Predator League 2020/21 Grand Finals was held online after being postponed in 2020 due to the pandemic. The events were streamed on Predator’s Facebook and Twitch pages.

Predator, the gaming division of Taiwanese computer giant Acer, started Predator League in 2018 with Indonesia hosting the grand finals. In 2019, the finals were held in Bangkok where TNC Predator also won the DOTA 2 championship.

A total of $400,000 worth of prizes was up for grabs with teams from 17 countries around Asia and the Pacific fighting it out in DOTA 2 and PUBG to win cash, Predator products and the coveted Predator Shield.

TNC Predator had to get past Galaxy Racer and Reckoning Esports to stay alive before it defeated Boom Esports in the lower bracket finals to set up a rematch with Neon Esports in the championship round.

TNC Predator lost to Neon Esports in the semifinals.

TNC Predator, composed of Timothy "Tims" Randrup, Kim "Gabbi" Villafuerte, Armel "Armel" Tabios, Marvin "Boomy" Rushton and Jun "Bok" Kanehara, took home the grand prize of $50,000. Neon Esports won $25,000 and third placer Boom Esports got $10,000.

Team Veteran from Myanmar edged out The Council from Bangladesh to win The Predator League 2020/21 Dota 2 Asia lower bracket final.

Neon Esports' Erin Jasper "Yopaj" Ferrer was named the league’s Intel Most Valuable Player for the Dota 2 tournament and Risky "Chibiritt" Junaidi Putra from Eagle 365 was named Intel MVP for PUBG.

Indonesian team Eagle 365 Esports emerged victorious in the Predator League 2021 Asia Pacific (APAC) PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) tournament. The team won $37,500.

Cerberus ESports was in second and Team N1 came in at third place to win $15,000 and $7,500, respectively.

Meanwhile, Korean team DWG-Kia was the champion of the Predator League 2020/2021 PUBG for the Asia region.

It was also announced that Japan will be the host for the APAC Predator League 2022 Grand Finals.
