PH hosts 2020/21 Asia-Pacific Predator League Grand Final
A total of $400,000 worth of prizes is up for grabs as the Philippines hosts the 2021 Asia-Pacific (APAC) Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final on April 6-11.
For five days, teams from 17 countries around Asia and the Pacific will battle it out in DOTA 2 and PUBG to win cash, Predator products and the coveted Predator Shield.
The league is going virtual this year with the matches to be streamed on the Predator Philippines Facebook and Twitch channels.
Predator is the the gaming division of Acer, one of the world’s top ICT companies. Predator started the esports league in 2018 with Indonesia hosting the grand finals in Jakarta. The 2019 finals was held in Bangkok where a Filipino team, TNC Predator, winning the DOTA 2 crown.
As the Asia-Pacific Predator League 2020/21 Grand Final pushes through after a year of hiatus, teams who qualified for Predator League 2020 Grand Final as well as organizations invited by Acer can finally show off their skills in the upcoming online-only tournament.
The competition will be divided into four sub-tournaments, two each for DOTA 2 and PUBG. Teams have been pre-assigned to their designated sub-tournament.
The prizes will be pooled across qualifiers to the four sub-tournaments and the winners.
Three teams will represent the Philippines in the PL 2020/21 PUBG APAC Region. First is ArkAngel Esports which had a great run in the first PUBG Continental Series last year. The brotherhood of TroubleMaku will also attempt to take home the championship as well as the up-and-coming Gamers Lounge.
DOTA 2 fans are also in for a treat as the most sought-after teams across Asia-Pacific go head-to-head for the DOTA 2 sub-tournaments. TNC Predator recently made a big decision to keep its roster all-Filipino with the addition of Marvin “Boomy” Rushton and Jun “Bok” Kanehara.
Meanwhile, the Neon Esports lineup consists of Filipino superstars John Anthony “Natsumi-“ Vargas, Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer and Rolen Andrei Gabriel “skem” Ong. Reckoning Esports also secured its spot in the tournament to further spice up the competition.
Predator is also giving away up to Php40,000 discount on select Predator laptops, desktops and monitors.
