Givenchy names Aespa as brand's 2021 ambassador in South Korea
Givenchy has announced the appointment of Aespa as the brand's 2021 ambassador in South Korea.
This marks the first-ever partnership between the K-pop band and a French luxury house. The four members of the group — Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing, as well as their respective avatars — will present key pieces and looks from collections by Creative Director Matthew M. Williams for Givenchy.
Aespa takes its name from Æ, the first letters in "Avatar" and "Experience" and the word "aspect," an anagram that expresses the duality of “meeting another self and experiencing a new world via avatars.”
The group made its debut on November 2020 with the release of the single “Black Mamba.” A powerful, dynamic performance style won the group big success.
"When I first saw Aespa, I was struck by its members’ energy, both as a group and individually. Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing each have a distinctive personal style that naturally reflects the spirit of Givenchy: when they wear fashion, they make it their own,” said Matthew M. Williams, CreativeDirector of Givenchy.
"We are delighted to be collaborating with Matthew for this exciting new chapter at Givenchy. We truly believe he brings out the magic of the House, and we are very excited to be part of it,” said the four members of Aespa.
In the Philippines, Givenchy is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc., and is located at Shangri-La Plaza Mall East Wing, Greenbelt 4, and Solaire Resort & Casino. Visit www.ssilife.com.ph or follow @ssilifeph on Instagram for more information.
