Diwatang Maria is the lockdown "baby" of Diwatang Maria Corp. president and CEO Ma. Concepcion "Macon" Macalintal.

Diwatang Maria Corp. started to market the brand to the public a couple of weeks before the lockdown, which became the biggest hurdle for the company.

“No one was prepared for the lockdown. Who would have thought that we will witness a global pandemic and economic crisis? But we are blessed to experience little successes amidst all these trials that everyone is facing,” said Macalintal.

Macalintal has so much faith in Filipino workmanship and ingenuity.

"I named the products after the three Filipino Diwatas. I left my job because I know in my heart that I have good products to offer and I want to reach out to many people who are depressed over their skin conditions. I was in the same position before. I wanted to sell products that were environment friendly and very good for the skin.”

One of the risks Macalintal took was to label her products as organic and eco-friendly.

In the past months, Diwatang Maria relied solely on online platforms to push its products until resellers coming from different parts of the country began to sell the soaps.

"On our 2nd anniversary last September, we launched our Bayanihan Program, which was aimed at getting at least 200 resellers by offering them a kit that only costs Php 1632, inclusive of 15 soaps and sample soaps.

The Bayanihan Program was created to help those who are looking for sources of livelihood while in quarantine.

Diwatang Maria premium organic soaps are available at Shopee, Lazada, All Day Supermarket, SM Kultura, Sesou and other online stores and social media platforms. The company is looking at bigger distribution channels since the demand from consumers nationwide is increasing

Diwatang Maria will soon launch a new product line that is also organic and eco-friendly and will surely follow the same branding of carrying Filipino names.
