Nov 9 Skechers releases limited edition BT21 sneaker collection

Skechers has just announced a limited edition BT21 collection inspired by the characters co-created by global phenomenon BTS.

The collection features the Skecher Street UNO sneaker with BT21 characters Koya, RJ, Shooky, Mang, Chimmy, Tata, Cooky and Van.

The collection features retro sneaker style, air-cushioned comfort as with all Skechers footwear. Each pair comes with a BT21 customized character name. It's a must-have for every BTS fan, collectively known as the Army, and merch collectors.

This is not the first time that BT21 has partnered with another global brand. It has collaborated with other powerhouse names such as Fila, Converse and Reebok in the past.

Officially launched in 2017, BT21 is a project between LINE Friends and BTS. Each avatar represents a specific BTS member while the gray and white character named Van represents the Army. The seven BT21 characters are Tata (V), RJ (Jin), Chimmy (Jimin), Cooky (Jungkook), Mang (J-Hope), Shooky (Suga) and Koya (RM).

The project started with cute stickers for online communication platform Friends. Eventually, the brand expanded, paving the way for the birth of the BT21 Universe where the story of every character was unveiled through animated videos and online games.

BT21 has captured the hearts of Gen Z and Millennial audiences around the world. It already has stores in different countries where fans can buy various merchandise inspired by the characters, from shirts and bags to mobile equipment.
