5 Easy Slimming Style Tips from a Mom

Flabs and unsightly fats - they’re not bad words but can be a very personal thing. To some, it’s a statement of post-pregnancy or motherhood thing. To others, it’s an “I don’t care to diet I just want to eat without being picky” sort of mentality.  But like it or not, those fats in a woman’s tummy could be there for keeps. So how can a woman feel sexy without going through surgery or even going to a rigid gym routine that’s not for the faint-hearted?

Here are some clothing pieces you could go for whenever you feel like you want to look slimmer.

1. Pick peplum.

Peplum tops, blouses or dresses could hide the bulging middle-part of moms. I think these are a great dress or top style to hide your belly area a bit.

2. Go black.

Play it cool and choose black clothing from time to time if you’re not much into it. You can never go wrong even with a full black ensemble. It’s a chic, flattering color that has always been known to make anyone look instantly fashionable.

3. Leggings galore

As a mom, I’ve found the usefulness of leggings, those simple pieces emphasize a shapely leg and draw attention away from my tummy. I also go for those with thicker fabric and usually wear them with long-sleeved blouses with length that go below just a few inches from my waist. Compared to jeans which can have a bit of a tough texture and can tend to squeeze your belly in, creating a muffin top, leggings are stretchy and comfy.

4. Pick long-sleeved tops or button up shirts with busy patterns.

Choose long-sleeved blouses with small stripes design to give illusion of looking slimmer. You could also go for long-sleeved blouses with cute patterns. Choose tops that would complement your skin tone.

5. Wear clothes that ACTUALLY fit.

Here’s the problem with most women: we tend to be in denial of how we truly look like and what our size really is to the point that sometimes, we forget that the key to looking good in clothes is for clothes to look good on you.

But the most honest thing is that you can actually look great in any clothes if you just know how to wear them right!

If you’re plus-sized, choose proper plus-sized clothing not oversized. Plus-sized women tend to shy away from pieces that complement their curves and instead use overly large clothes that make them look even bigger. Same goes with smaller clothes so you have to make sure that the pieces you wear are just right.

Of course, if one can mix and match their attitude of sexy flair with wearing cold-shoulder style or cut-out blouses, which are my other favorites, and skirts with long slits on the side, why not?  Dressing up is powerful statement for women of any age.

But really nothing beats a healthy diet and exercise which are still the best ways to becoming fitter and healthier. But until then, while you’re still working on it, a girls’s got to do what a mom’s got to do. So just go dress yourselves beautifully moms  and embrace your curves with graceful femininity.
