Cuts and Color Trends We'll Definitely Try This 2017

If you look through your old photos (think five years ago), you would normally cringe at what you see, especially the hairstyles. But what's past is past, right?

We've all made mistakes--the poufy bangs, the spaghetti perm, the rebonded look and even the orange hair color that was supposed to be tawny auburn.

Who wants a dated hairstyle? No one. We're all searching for a look that's flattering and current.

So what is current? Here are the hair trends that will make waves (*wink wink*) this year.

The Pocahontas look

MAC Cosmetics

Ultra-long and straight hair is back and preferably in your natural color but enhanced. This may be difficult to achieve naturally but that's what extensions are for. Tip: You don't need to follow this trend to the letter. You can wear it shorter. Break out your hair straightening iron to maintain the silky straight look.

Bronde

The hottest hair color for 2017 is a look that mixes brown and blonde. To achieve this, the base color should be medium brown. Then, the top layers should be highlighted.

Tip: Because your hair will be lightened, ask your salon to do it with Olaplex, a hair treatment that prevents damage and treats hair at the same time.

Lob

A lob is a long bob with or without layers. You can wear it loosely curled or straight. What's great about this look is that it's very versatile. It has to be styled, though, as it's not exactly wash and wear unless you've had it permed.

Eye length bangs

It's probably the Korean drama influence but bangs are big this year. It could be full on bangs or just a wispy fringe but this is a great way to change your look without making a big commitment.

Chocolate brunette

This is the time to go dark again. Going dark makes hair look healthier and shinier. And what's great about going chocolate is that there are many shades to choose from.
