We Finally Tried and Tested Anne Curtis' BLK Cosmetics Lipsticks

I received a boxful of products from Anne Curtis’ recently launched blk cosmetics. The box included nine lipsticks, three from each line. So I decided to review three lipsticks.

All Day Intense Matte Lipstick in Elegant

I chose what I thought was the mauve lipstick because it’s the most wearable. It turns out that Elegant is a brick red. To compare, it’s like a browner version of my favorite MAC Chili lipstick. I liked the texture. It’s a very comfortable matte. The coverage is buildable so for those who want their lipsticks really opaque, you’d need to swipe twice or thrice. Staying power is 3-4 hours, which isn’t bad at all for something that cost P 299.

Velvet Lip Cream in Classy

This color was still a neutral but it had more pink in it. It reminded me of MAC Twig lipstick. On me, it was a pinkish brown. For someone with fairer skin, it would probably be a brownish pink. Of the three textures, this one was the one I liked best, probably because it was moisturizing. Note: My lips are forever dry. This is best used with lip liner because it tends to slide around. The Velvet Lip Cream is also priced at P 299.

Long-Lasting Liquid Matte in Sassy

This lived up to its claim of being long-lasting. This pink-based brown, for me, is very thin in texture but still easy to apply. Once it’s on your lips, it stays put. On me, it survived for seven hours. It was drying, as most liquid lipsticks are but not extremely so. This is the priciest one at P 349.

Overall, I’d say the lipsticks are well-priced and made of quality ingredients. With everything at less than P 400, you get more than what you pay for.

Note: Swatches from top are Elegant, Classy and Sassy.
