L’Oreal’s Beauty for a Better Life is Beauty with a Purpose

They say we create our own destiny, but it doesn’t hurt when a lending hand is offered. Whether it’s great timing or an institution that cares about the superficial, help is always appreciated when it comes to achieving our dreams.

This year, L’Oreal Philippines’ Beauty For a Better Life program gave hope for a better future to 69 individuals who recently graduated during the ceremony event held at the Renaissance Convention Center in Marikina City.

Present in 30 countries, the Beauty For a Better Life program aims to empower women in vulnerable social or economic situations by placing the heart and art of beauty at the forefront of the program by honing women’s skills in the field of hairdressing and providing them job and business opportunities to sustain their livelihood after completion of the program.

For Joan Mararac, one of the 69 graduates of L’Oreal’s Beauty for a Better Life program, her experience and achievement at the program helped her in ways more than one. “Ang nawala ko sa sarili ko pati ang kumpayansa, lahat naibalik ng BFBL. Nakita ko kung paano pa pwede mangarap ulit, na meron pa kaming pagasa na umunlad.”

L’Oréal Philippines Corporate Communications Manager, Carmel Valencia, reflects upon another incredible year of hard work and passion from BFBL’s graduates, “It is so amazing and inspiring to see all of you with such big smiles and a new sense of confidence, dignity, and motivation. I see it in your eyes, your smiles, and I’m sure I will see it again when you walk up here to collect your well-earned certificates.”

As L’Oréal Philippines looks to changing and improving the livelihood of even more Filipinos, Ms. Valencia shared that L’Oréal Philippines will continue to be a committed partner in working with communities to share beauty with all, and officially announced the opening of three new barangay centers in Barangay Bayong Nayon 1 in Antipolo, Barangay Western Bicutan in Taguig, and Barangay Sto. Rosario Kanluran in Pateros as part of aspiring to reach L’Oréal’s mission of training and supporting a total of 1,000 graduates with a thousand better futures by 2022 in the Philippines.
