Regine Velasquez is All the Hype at ABS-CBN Right Now and Here's Why We Love Her
The Asia’s songbird has been making rounds on every huge show in her new home network, ABS-CBN. She’s been getting quite a welcome from her new family and honestly, we can’t get enough of her!
We’ve been fans of the songbird from the start and with all the realness she’s been showing on her interviews, it looks like we’ll be fans for a longer time. Here are a few reasons why we love Regine:
1. She’s got an awesome voice.
Well, not to be obvious but this is the main reason of course. But when we say awesome, we mean awesome. If you think she sounds amazing on TV and recordings, wait til you hear her live. Her crystal clear voice that hits all the right notes will make you realize why she has indeed earned her “songbird” title. And she’s so awesome, even Mariah Carey threw her some shade.
2. She came from humble beginnings…
…and she’s not afraid to look back and reminisce those days. Some celebs, local or foreign, tend to not look back to the part of their lives when they were facing the toughest challenges of climbing up to the top. Not Regine. She was the product of singing competitions which has been giving hope to those who keep joining these contests to make it big on the music scene.
3. She’s timeless.
At only age 48, Regine Velasquez is one name that will surely not skip your mind when asked who the best singers of the Philippines are. Since the rise of her career in the 1990s, she never stopped. Not only is her talent timeless, her songs and the particular sound of her voice are too.
4. She’s actually multi-talented.
Similar to most rising celebs in the local entertainment industry, Regine has also appeared in movies that also became quite iconic like Wanted Perfect Mother. She has also appeared in TV shows which made her earn a Star Award for Best Actress.
5. She’s a daddy’s girl.
Any true Regine Velasquez fan would know the stories about how she trained when she was much younger. In every interview she does, she never misses to mention her gratitude for her dad who was her vocal coach and trainer. When her dad passed in 2014, audiences definitely felt her sadness and grief.
6. She’s hilarious.
It’s no wonder Vice Ganda loved her so much. She’s too funny. For someone who’s got a huge name in the industry, Regine knows how to laugh and make others laugh. We see she probably takes it from her mother! She also says it’s also one of the reasons why she married famous singer-songwriter and comedian, Ogie Alcasid! They’re basically #relationshipgoals. Can you imagine how musical their home might be?
