Can Y'all Just Please Stop Eating Those Damn Tide Pods??

Tide Pods aren’t candy even if they look appetizing and cute. They’re soap.

A social media trend called the Tide Pod challenge involves teenagers eating these single-load laundry detergent packets.

Warning: Eating detergent, which is what Tide Pods contain, can result in seizures, respiratory arrest and even death, according to the American Association of Poison Control Centers.

It’s not even funny!

In a video, NFL football player Rob Gronkowski tells the public not to eat the Tide Pods.

Not to blame anyone but the pods have always been controversial. Young children have the tendency to bite into them because they really look like candy.

In 2017, poison control centers in the United States reported over 10,000 claims of children five years or younger being badly exposed to Tide Pods.

Procter & Gamble Co., which manufactures these pods, is doing its part to quell this trend.

The company’s CEO David Taylor has called the post “dangerous.”

“I assure you we’re working with our partners to do what we can to stop this dangerous trend, including ensuring social media networks are removing videos that glorify this harmful behavior, partnering with advocacy and industry groups to help spread the word that this is dangerous behavior not to be copied,” said Taylor.
