86 candidates for Miss Universe 2016 paraded before the judges in their long gowns, swimsuits, and national costumes in the Preliminary Event of the pageant 26 January, Thursday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The outcome of the Preliminary will determine the 12 semi-finalists who will be named on Monday, 30 January during the Coronation Night.

The judges include former Miss Universe title holders Dayanara Torres and Riyo Mori.

The Preliminary was hosted by Derek Ramsay and Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
