I Wore The Vivaia Margot Mary-Janes For 10 Days And Here’s What Happened

You might have heard of Vivaia from Instagram ads. You must have also seen the long lines of people buying them in stores abroad.

Vivaia finally made it to the Philippines with a pop-up at Power Plant Mall. Not surprisingly, lines were long on opening day and nearly every day.

Before getting the Vivaia Margot Mary-Janes, I looked at reviews on TikTok. Some users said the flats were like sneakers while others said they needed Band-Aids after just an hour of use. Some showed wounds. Others said the shoes were painful.

For reference, Vivaia is known for its comfortable flats and eco-friendly components. The brand’s partnership with certified REPREVE suppliers transforms discarded PET plastic bottles into premium threads, which are skillfully woven into the shoes using advanced 3D knitting technology.

So I put the Margot Mary-Janes to the test and see if I was going to become a fan or a hater. I chose the Mary-Janes over the flats because they were more comfortable. But definitely, they were not as comfy as sneakers.

I wore them for 10 days without alternating them with other shoes. They were comfortable. I did not get blisters. I cannot compare them with my comfortable sneakers and sandals from Keen and New Balance. I would not hoard them in all colors but I like the one that I have and will probably replace it once it’s worn out.

The Vivaia Margot Mary-Janes are great for people who are used to wearing sneakers but need to put on “real shoes” for work. I am not sure they can withstand the rigorous walking when you’re traveling. The longest I have walked in them was 7,380 steps.

At Php5,890 each, the Vivaia Margot Mary-Janes aren’t cheap. You can get similar-looking shoes for less than half its price. But personally, I like the pair that I have.

The Vivaia pop-up store is located on Level R2 Bridgeway, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati City, and is open until March 31, 2025. For more information on the latest styles and store openings, follow @vivaia.philippines on Instagram and Facebook.
