After she won her first Oscar, Korean actress Youn Yuh-jung was asked how Brad Pitt smelled since he was the one who handed her the trophy.

"I didn't smell him. I'm not a dog," said the 73-year-old, who won the Oscar for her role in "Minari."

Much as Youn Yuh-jung was honored to meet Brad Pitt at the Oscars, she pointed out that her name was said wrong.

“As you know, I’m from Korea, and actually my name is Youn Yuh-jung and in most of Europe, people call me ‘Yoh Yun’ and some of them call me ‘Yuh Yun’ but tonight you are all forgiven.”

Youn Yuh-jung dropped out of college in the 1960s to become an actress. One of her most famous roles was that of a royal concubine in the MBC drama "Jang Hui-bin" in 1971. She was one of the nine actresses who played this role through the years.

She got married in 1974 to singer Cho Young-nam and lived in the United States and came back to Korea in the 1980s to resume her career.

Since 2010, Youn Yuh-jung has been busy with films and TV shows. In "Minari," she plays the matriarch of a Korean immigrant family who moves to Arkansas from California to farm.
