Tic Tac, Mobile Legends Launch Campaign

Mint brand Tic Tac has collaborated with one of the top mobile games in the Philippines, Mobile Legends, for a campaign dubbed “Refresh your Game” to inspire gamers to refresh and celebrate “little wins” in the game

As part of this campaign, Tic Tac hosted a virtual “Game Night” hosted by ML gamer Sarah Carlos. The guests, TV personality John Vic de Guzman, gaming influencer Yskaela Fujimoto, and actor Kristoffer Martin, shared some tips on how they approach the game. One of the questions was about their strategy on killing more jungle monsters than turrets. John Vic said killing jungle monsters was one of the best ways to earn more gold early in the game. Meanwhile, Kristoffer said killing more jungle monsters or turrets depends on the player's role. For example, for core players like him, killing jungle monsters is a priority.

Yskaela, John Vic and Kristoffer also battled it out LIVE with three lucky audience members selected through an online contest before the event. Audience members Ken, Alyssa and Ruby, won the battle.

Throughout the friendly banter, everyone's passion for ML was evident with teamwork mentioned as an essential factor. For Kristoffer, who reached Mythic Glory last season, having a squad helped.

"Mahirap mag-solo. Kailangan ng five-man squad. Madali kasi pag alam niyo na strengths ng isa’t isa (It’s difficult to go solo. You need a five-man squad. It’s easier to play when you know each other’s strengths),” he said.

Although it's important to bank on one's strengths and master a role, the guests quickly pointed out that it's equally important to familiarize oneself with the other characters—a helpful strategy when playing solo.

The players also shared how much they appreciated having an outlet like ML in light of the pandemic.

"I love it when I get to interact with other people. Nakakausap mo sila through the game 9You talk to them through the game),” said Yskaela.

Kristoffer agreed and jokingly said, “Nakakatulong siya para makalimot sa mga problema. But kidding aside, nakaka-libang yung game. Nae-exercise din yung brain mo (Mobile Legends helps you forget your problems. Kidding aside, the game is really entertaining and it helps to exercise your brain).”

For John Vic, ML is a great outlet especially for students who attend online classes and are cooped up at home all day. “Dahil sa ML, yung mga students nae-experience yung normal na buhay estudyante. Nakakapaglaro pa rin sila with their friends (Because of ML, the students somehow experience some sort of normalcy. They’re able to play with their friends),” he said.
