Filipino fans of the Korean boy group SF9 have organized #SendFood9, a donation drive for the people of Cagayan Valley who were hit by Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco).

#SendFood9 encouraged Fantasy, as SF9's fans are known, to donate Php 9 and above to help those affected by the typhoon. Pretty soon, not only Filipino fans were sending money for the people of Cagayan. Even Fantasy from Singapore and Malaysia pooled their resources to donate. Fantasy from the United States, Canada, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Australia and several countries in Europe also sent their donations, along with fans of other K-pop groups such as N.Flying, Wanna One and Apink. Donations also came from fans of Japanese figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu.

The beneficiaries of the donation drive included several organizations and volunteer groups such as PawPassion Project, a shelter for animals.

By Sunday, the group had already sent money to Cagayan State University (currently serving as an evacuation center), JCI, TuguegaraOne and PawPassionProject.

The CSU volunteers have been distributing cooked food because most of the flood victims have no means to prepare and cook food.

The people of Cagayan Valley need more donations. The huge volumes of water released from Magat Dam have displaced thousands of families in Isabela and Cagayan Valley. Relief operations in the area are ongoing. No amount is too small to donate.
